New Director of Music for Sussex Chorus

Joining us from our first rehearsal of the year, Jack Thompson BA(Hons) MMus (Cantab) FRSA becomes the choir's new Director of Music from January 2019.

While still at an early stage in his career, Jack has an impressive CV.  Currently, he is Organist and Music Teacher at Ardingly College in West Sussex as well as Director of Music at St Mary's, Chelsea.  He has worked previously as a conductor at Oxford, Cambridge and Durham universities and today maintains a busy freelance career alongside choirs and ensembles across the UK.  

He is Founder and Artisitic Director of the Cadogan Consort and has worked in recent project with nmembers of the BBC Singers, the Gabrieli Consort, Glyndbourne Opera and the Sixteen.  He also appears regularly alongside cathedral, collegiate and university choirs and has previously prepared ensembles for performances with Sir Thomas Allen, Kazushi Ono, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the OAE.

Jack has featured in numerous broadcasts and recordings and recordings for national radio and television and performs extensively throughout the UK, Continental Europe, North America and the Far East.  He has given organ recitals at Durham Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral and St John's College, Cambridge, and has twice appeared as a soloist for HM the Queen.
